Diary Entry (Day 5 recap by Jocelyn Tsang from 6A)

Today was the end of our performances at Harmala School and Peltolammin School, so we were (hopefully) able to get more sleep. This morning, we took the bus from Tampere to Lahti. the highlight of the day happened there.

At first, we were planning to go inside the Jean Sibelius Concert Hall, where I could sing, hopefully. However, there was a change of plan and we could not go in. I was a bit disappointed, of course. To make up, our tour guide, Ann, let us walk around a frozen sea nearby.

The whole sea had frozen into ice and the ice was covered in snow. When one looked all the way across the sea, one could only see the 'everlasting' patch of snow and ice. What's more, the ships which were parked in the sea stayed on the ice, which meant we got to look at and take photos with big ships in the real sea which was frozen.

I ran over the frozen sea, occasionally stumbling over the uneven ground. The dock in the sea was covered with snow and frozen over the ice. At first I did not even recognize the dock and thought it was a bench! on the dock, I got a piece of ice and examined the pattern closely. It was so beautiful! The pattern was delicate and you could see the lines of it. There it lay, glinting from the sunlight, on my gloved hand. Sparkling and pure. Just like me.
